The Power of Responsible Blogging in Nurturing Harmony in Kenya's Young DemocracyIntroduction:
In recent years, blogging has become an influential medium of expression, allowing individuals to voice their opinions, share information, and contribute to public discourse. However, in a young democracy like Kenya, where tribal leanings can easily amplify division and disharmony, it is crucial for bloggers to embrace responsible practices that respect the rights of others. This blogpost aims to shed light on the importance of fair, truthful, and responsible reporting in Kenya's evolving democratic landscape.
Fairness in Reporting:
Responsible blogging starts with a commitment to fairness. Bloggers should strive for balanced coverage, representing diverse perspectives and providing accurate information. By presenting a comprehensive view of issues, bloggers can avoid contributing to the perpetuation of tribal biases. Fair reporting fosters understanding and empathy while minimizing the risk of triggering tensions between different ethnic communities.
Truthfulness as a Pillar:
In a young democracy, where the wounds of past conflicts are still healing, truthful reporting becomes even more important. Bloggers have the power to shape public opinion, and this power must be exercised with utmost responsibility. Before publishing any information, bloggers should verify facts through reliable sources and ensure that their content is based on truth, rather than perpetuating rumors or unsubstantiated claims.
Responsible Reporting:
While freedom of speech is a fundamental right, it comes with the responsibility to prevent the incitement of violence or hate speech. Bloggers should be cautious when discussing topics related to ethnicity, religion, or cultural practices that have the potential to divide communities. By promoting inclusivity and tolerance in their reporting, bloggers can help create a sense of unity rather than disharmony.
Balancing Sensitivity and Open Dialogue:
To navigate the delicate socio-political landscape in a young democracy like Kenya, bloggers should develop a heightened sense of sensitivity. This means actively avoiding the use of inflammatory language or perpetuating stereotypes. Respect for cultural differences and the recognition of shared values should guide conversations. By fostering open dialogue and promoting constructive engagement, bloggers can contribute to the growth of a truly inclusive democracy.
Conclusion:
As guardians of the online world, bloggers have a responsibility to use their platform to foster respect, understanding, and harmony in a young democracy like Kenya. By embracing fair, truthful, and responsible reporting practices, bloggers can contribute to the nation-building process, transcending the tribal leanings that may seek to divide us. Let us recognize the influential role that responsible blogging can play in shaping the future of our democracy, where unity and progress go hand in hand.

GENESIS AND POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS TO POLITICAL PROTESTS IN KENYA.
The genesis of protests in Kenya can be traced back to several factors, including political grievances, social injustice, economic disparities, and the desire for greater democratic reforms. Kenyans have taken to the streets to voice their discontent and demand change in various instances, such as disputed elections, corruption scandals, police brutality, and inequality.
One of the significant triggers was the 2007-2008 post-election violence, which resulted in the loss of over 1,000 lives and displacement of thousands. This event highlighted the need for electoral reforms and led to increased awareness among citizens about their power to effect change through organized protests.
In recent years, protests have erupted over issues such as insecurity, land grabs, unemployment, and the rising cost of living. Youth, who make up a significant portion of the population, often take part in these demonstrations due to limited opportunities and frustration with the government's handling of these issues.
To address the challenges and mitigate the genesis of protests, several probable solutions can be suggested. Firstly, there needs to be political will from leaders to address grievances and engage in meaningful dialogue with protesters. This includes implementing reforms to ensure transparent elections, fighting corruption, and promoting good governance.
Additionally, there is a need for economic policies that foster growth, job creation, and reduce inequalities. This could involve investing in key sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, and technology, as well as providing opportunities for skill development and entrepreneurship.
Improving social services such as education and healthcare is crucial for reducing inequalities and providing equal opportunities for all Kenyans. Ensuring access to quality education and healthcare would not only address social injustices but also contribute to national development and reduce the likelihood of protests.
Building strong institutions, such as an independent judiciary, an effective police force, and a robust civil society, can help address issues related to human rights abuses, corruption, and maladministration. These institutions should operate with transparency and be committed to upholding the rule of law.
Lastly, fostering a culture of inclusive politics and strengthening public participation can help address the genesis of protests. Ensuring that the voices of marginalized groups, women, and youth are heard and represented in decision-making processes can promote social cohesion and minimize grievances.
Overall, tackling systemic issues through comprehensive reforms and inclusive policies and institutions is crucial to address the genesis of protests in Kenya and promote a more stable and prosperous nation.

NEVER WORRY.
Let me help you - not with money but how to manage your stress levels.
NEVER WORRY.
Step 1: Do you have a problem?
If yes, do you have a solution to your problem.
If YES, don't worry ,just implement the solution. If NOT, thinking about the problem won't make the situation better!
Our brains are wired to worry about the unknown. Unlearn and normalize not to worry about things that you don't have control over.
Most importantly, understand that you have near zero control over the external factors affecting your life. Hope & trusting the process is enough to keep you moving.

MINNIE MOUSE
I got her in the streets early today. She was haggard and unkept. I asked the vendor why she was so sad and he told me she had been rained on all night. She had nowhere to sleep because he hadn't paid rent. The landlord had locked them out. So mini mouse had to spend the night out, like an old abandoned lorry. She was staring at the Nairobi cats in this city called Kanairo; fat cats, not knowing of what the dark night reveals. It could be pishori in her milk, a rape or a murder in the alleys of Kanairo. I can't imagine the seconds dragging into minutes of her nightmarish thoughts. When could it be an hour, what about the morning ? Could she live to tell her story. When i found her i looked into her eyes and they just cried for a hug. A deep ,warm sincere hug. I picked her up and though she was wet , from the kanairo overnight rain: i just hugged her like i would hug my own daughter . I felt tears well into my eyes. I felt some of my warmth transfer into her. It was like i saw a glimpse of a twinkle in her eyes as she glowed with happiness. I vowed i wouldn't let her suffer anymore. I haggled with the hawker and bought her. I would clean her, iron her fire woman clothes and dress her up. She will be the super heroine she is supposed to be. Then i thought about something; how many children are in these streets of Kanairo and elsewhere in the world who are just looking for love or a place to call home. Be kind to them. You never know.

THE QUICKIE
THE QUIKIE
How we go to work over here. On my way there I just popped into a studio for a quickie. She told me to walk in(the studio),it was dark and we were all alone. Then she put it on(the lights switch ) and boom,it was camera, lights and action .I was looking forward to the action part,so she touched me softly here and theeeere(for the right pose) and told me statue (not to move).I was anxious and i held my breath."Tuck it in"(the tummy),she ordered like a troop commander and i obeyed -You know her wish is my command and right now i was not following the 10 commandments. Then she busted,am coming and she walked out. A second later she was back with eager desperation to get it done. I was standing there like a maasai moran ready to strangle a lion. Suddenly and without trepidation, she put it in(the camera pin that connects to the flash) and suddenly she screamed...one..two..threee..cheese eeeeee The quickie was all over and i stood there just hanging like a coat hanger and off she left.(to the computer room.) to process my photo.
